Install

Aberration runs on Minecraft 1.21.1 with the NeoForge 21.1.225 mod loader, and needs no other mods — everything is bundled inside the jar. Pick whichever launcher you use below; they all end the same way, with the Aberration jar in your mods folder.

The jar isn't released yet — the download will appear on the home page when it is.

Option 1 — CurseForge App

  1. Install the CurseForge App if you don't have it.
  2. Open it, pick Minecraft, and click Create Custom Profile.
  3. Name it (e.g. Aberration), set the game version to 1.21.1, set the mod loader to NeoForge, and create it.
  4. Right-click the new profile → Open Folder, then open the mods folder (create it if it's missing).
  5. Move the downloaded aberration-…-obf-final.jar into mods.
  6. Back in the app, hit Play.

Option 2 — Modrinth App

  1. Install the Modrinth App if you don't have it.
  2. Click Create instance (the + button).
  3. Name it, choose loader NeoForge, game version 1.21.1, and create it.
  4. Open the instance → three-dot menu → Open folder, then open the mods folder.
  5. Move the downloaded aberration-…-obf-final.jar into mods.
  6. Hit Play on the instance.

Option 3 — Vanilla Minecraft Launcher

  1. Go to neoforged.net and download the NeoForge installer version 21.1.225 (for Minecraft 1.21.1).
  2. Run the installer, keep Install client selected, and click OK. It adds a NeoForge profile to your normal Minecraft launcher.
  3. Open your Minecraft folder:
    • Windows: press Win+R, type %appdata%\.minecraft, press Enter.
    • Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft
    • Linux: ~/.minecraft
  4. Open (or create) the mods folder and move the downloaded aberration-…-obf-final.jar into it.
  5. Open the Minecraft launcher, select the NeoForge profile, and press Play.

Check it worked

On the Minecraft title screen, click Mods — you should see Aberration in the list. If the game won't start or the mod is missing, see the FAQ.
